My Story, My Purpose, My Passion for Giving Back

My name is Jimmy Hurtado, and while I was born in Ecuador, South America, I have been blessed with the opportunities and experiences that this wonderful country, the United States, has given me. But no matter how far life takes me, I will never forget where I came from.

I grew up in a humble neighborhood where life wasn’t always easy. As a child, I remember playing soccer barefoot, sometimes with nothing more than a plastic bag stuffed with newspapers as our soccer ball. I witnessed families struggling to put food on the table and hardworking people doing everything they could just to provide their loved ones with a simple meal.

Those memories never left me. They became the foundation of my purpose.

Today, I am grateful to be part of the Sweet Dreams Mattress family, where I’ve been given opportunities, encouragement, and support to grow both personally and professionally. These blessings have inspired me to give back and help create opportunities for others.

My heart has always been drawn to serving those in need—whether it’s a child dreaming of a brighter future, a parent struggling to provide for their family, or an elderly person in need of kindness, food, or basic necessities.

My greatest inspiration comes from my family, my roots, my faith, and the belief that we are all here for a greater purpose. I believe true success isn’t measured by what we accumulate, but by the lives we touch and the difference we make along the way.

I know I cannot change the entire world, but I believe I can help change someone’s world. And sometimes, something as simple as a warm meal, a helping hand, or a genuine smile can bring hope where it’s needed most.

My mission is simple: To love, serve, and make a positive difference in the lives of others, while enjoying the beautiful journey God has given me.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about how much we have. It’s about how much we give.
